It was reported that shots were fired between two cars in the 2000 block of Jackson Ave. this afternoon November 10, 2024 about 1:10 p.m. There were no injuries reported. This location is near Rhodes College campus. The Memphis Police Department is actively working on the case, but there is no suspect information.
You should never confront suspects actively stealing or breaking into vehicles. If you see something concerning, contact Campus Safety or the Memphis Police Department immediately.

WHAT IS THIS NOTICE?
Rhodes College publishes notices when certain crimes are reported on or near campus property in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (the Clery Act). The notice provides information about incidents impacting the campus community and is intended to enable campus community members to protect themselves.
No action or inaction by a crime survivor makes them responsible for their victimization. Perpetrators are responsible for crimes and their effects. The following suggestions may help reduce the possibility of experiencing such a crime and/or improve opportunities for prompt assistance.

Do not walk alone. Travel in groups when possible.
