For general student concerns, Rhodes College has a C.A.R.E. (Concern, Assess, Response, and Evaluate) Team. This team convenes regularly to discuss concerning, disruptive, or threatening behaviors. The team is focused on early intervention and prevention of disruption amongst the community. The team seeks to provide support, guidance, other interventions, and/or referral to additional resources. The Dean of Students office can be contacted at 901-843-3815.
For mental health concerns/emergencies, the Student Counseling Center is open from 8:30 – 5:00, Monday through Friday. To schedule an appointment during regular office hours, please call (901) 843-3128. Appointments are preferred when possible, but walk ins are welcome and will be seen as soon as possible. The Counseling Center is located in the Moore Moore Building adjacent to the Refectory. After Hours Crisis Calls: Any ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø student who requires urgent or emergency counseling services outside of regular office hours should contact the Student Counseling Center at (901) 843-3128. Counselors are available to speak with students in crisis twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Students may also contact Lakeside Hospital at (901) 377-4733. Lakeside Hospital provides after-hours confidential evaluations at no cost. Please contact Campus Safety or Lakeside Hospital if you or someone you care about needs assistance or crisis counseling outside regular office hours.
For medical concerns, the Student Health Center is open from 8:30 – 5:00 (closed 12:00 – 1:00), Monday through Friday. To schedule an appointment during regular office hours, please call (901) 843-3895. The Student Health Center is located in the Moore Moore Building adjacent to the Refectory. Students can seek advice and treatment for a wide range of medical needs, such as strep, flu, treatment of ENT infections, and some in-house lab work, as well as obtain a prescription. The nurse practitioner is available via appointment from 9:30-12:00 and 1:00-3:00 five days per week. There is a $60 per-visit fee for each new appointment with the nurse practitioner. The students can see the staff nurse at no cost for routine health issues.
For medical emergencies (e.g., loss of consciousness, cardiac arrest, seizure, head injury, serious fall or fractures, excessive bleeding), the victim or a bystander should first call 911 emergency response system. Campus Safety (901-843-3333) should be called immediately after 911.
